Hi guys i am a small developer, i really like to use my sound blaster cards on my machines and i love also coding, so when i find the source code for the kx audio driver on git hub and then Eugene, the creator of kx audio driver decided to no longer maintain the project, i decided to start working on a mod of this driver and maintain it.
With my mod, created starting from the sources of the last official version of kx audio driver and all the small commiunity updates, i am working to keep the driver compatible with the latest mac os versions and to improove the driver over time.
kx audio driver alpha download
Just for who wants to see which audio cards will be recognized by the audio driver, i link to you a .cpp code file which is used to recognize the audio cards in the driver, if you have a copy of the latest official sources, you will find the original version into the project folder/driver/frname.cpp, you can not use mine file as replacement for the frname that there is in the official sources because i use some custom properties, methods and variables that needs changes in other parts of the code to work
Finally i am releasing an alpha of the kx driver mod, there are two ways to use it, with the installer pack and the kext only pack, i suggest the first option, says that, install it and test it on your machines and give me feedback
Carla is an audio plugin host, with support for many audio drivers and plugin formats. It has some nice features like automation of parameters via MIDI CC (and send output back as MIDI too) and full OSC control.
A new engine driver makes an apparance, for SDL (both v1 and v2) which is handy when building for systems where neither JACK or RtAudio works. The main targets for this driver are HaikuOS and Web-Assembly, the latter one which has already been verified to work. I am sure there will still be more tweaks needed, but at least audio should now work on HaikuOS too. I will investigate more in depth later.

The first new thing worth mentioning is the substantial work for VST3 in DPF made this month. Though it is still in a state I consider alpha at the moment, everything that is crucial is implemented: from audio, midi, time position, parameters, programs, state, latency and gui. Not recommended to release anything based on this yet, as there are memory leaks and the GUI only works on Linux at the moment (and known to break REAPER due to not plugging into the host runloop yet).
This new engine processing mode is similar to what JACK does for all clients and what other modular applications do. Every plugin gets its own canvas group and ports allowing you to interconnect plugin audio and MIDI. You can use this mode to build complex plugin routing scenarios, perhaps involving several layers of rack and patchbays. Note that this is currently not available for non-JACK drivers; but for those you can use the internal carla-patchbay plugin. There's no support for LV2 Control-Voltage ports as of yet, this will be implemented in the next beta together with MIDI-OSC.
Carla Plugin Host, or just Carla, is an audio plugin host, with support for many audio drivers and plugin formats. It has some nice features like automation of parameters via MIDI CC and full OSC control.
Carla currently supports LADSPA (including LRDF), DSSI, LV2, and VST plugin formats, plus GIG, SF2 and SFZ file support. It uses JACK as the default and preferred audio driver but also supports native drivers like ALSA, DirectSound or CoreAudio.

Note: Ploytec, a German company have developed a very low latency alternative to ASIO4ALL and the native Behringer driver for both Windows and Mac. It is capable of latency in the 2 ms range. Their software driver is somewhat expensive at $60, but you can download and try it out to see if it is worth the money for your situation. The demo download can be found at: on usb-audio.com
