Wacom Intuos Gd 0608 U Driver For Mac

Is there a tablet driver for the Wacom Intuos model GD-0608-U for OS X Maverick 10.9.3? The driver I downloaded from the Wacom website apparently doesn't work for my older model tablet, which still works amazing. The tablet itself lights up properly when the pen is touched to the surface, but there is no corresponding response on my Macbook Air (2011 model). I do not want to purchase a new tablet (unless I can find a free one haha) because they are so pricey; is there a driver elsewhere on the web that works with this model tablet and Mac software? Thank you!

On 1/30/15 wacom wrote me ..."Unfortunately your tablet is not compatible with your current Operating System (El Capitan OS X10.11.3) because it is already a legacy model. However, it would still be compatible with Windows 7, Vista or XP and Mac OS X v. 10.6, 10.5, 10.4 & 10.3. You can also try checking out the latest model of your tablet which is Intuos Pro." .... So ... I guess...get an older computer or a newer tablet? Well... I just kept installing & un-installing drivers until I found one that worked. Here it is -us/support/faqs/legacy-tablet-driver-pages/what-is-the-latest-driver-for-the-intuos-gd-tabletsGood luck DanielPS... just found the preference pane doesn't work. Maybe this trick will work -wacom-preferences-and-os-xFor now I'm happy.. I'll try this preference thing only if I have to.

Wacom Intuos Gd 0608 U Driver For Mac

Graphire 4 CTE-640 and El Capitan OSX 10.11 here. I have been trying various solutions online all day but always had one of two errors: either got the "could not load Wacom Tablet preference pane," or got a preference pane that said "a supported tablet was not found on the system." Tried a ton of different things for about the past 4 hours, but finally found a driver that worked for me (btw, i kept getting a 404 error when trying to access the legacy driver linked above, not sure if wacom actually just took it down, or because it's a US site and I'm trying to access it from Japan). Anyway:

I just downloaded the latest legacy driver from -us/support/faqs/legacy-tablet-driver-pages/what-is-the-latest-driver-for-the-intuos-gd-tablets and my Intuos 2 is working pretty well with El Capitan. True - I can't load the preference pane but can't say I need to.

I have an ancient Intuos GD-0608-U and I got it to work with El Capitan by installing this driver from Wacom: _6.2.0w4.dmgAs the previous user stated the preferences don't work but the pen/stylus does work with default settings...

How worked for me. Sierra 10.12.6 Intuos GD-0608-U. Clean installation driver 6.2.0w4 Go /Library/PreferencePanes, move to desktop WacomTablet.prefpane, open package (I use Pacifist on demo) and extract Info.plist, trash this WacomTablet.prefpane From driver 6.3.15-3, open installer package (Pacifist again) DO NOT INSTALL, open package, copy to desktop WacomTablet.prefpane, open package, change the Info.plist (with the one from 6.2.0w4). Close all. Put this prefpane in /Library/PreferencePanes. I set System Preferences.app to 32bit with info, before open Preferences, is working, close and set off 32bit. Summary: Is a 6.2.0w4 installation with a preferences panel from 6.3.15-3 which has inside an Info.plist from 6.2.0w4. This works so did not try any other version of the driver.NOTE: whats different for me, is that all information is about a newest driver with and oldest PrefPane, that did not worked for me. The last driver for Intuos (GD series) is 6.2.0w4 and did not work on osX 10.12.6, so use that oldest driver installation, but with a newest PrefPane from 6.3.15-3 with inside the info.plist from 6.2.0w4. And you get a full functional System Preferences Panel, don't need old preferences file.

Hi I had no pressure sensitivity on my ET-0405-U until I followed this advice:"I have an ancient Intuos GD-0608-U and I got it to work with El Capitan by installing this driver from Wacom: _6.2.0w4.dmg As the previous user stated the preferences don't work but the pen/stylus does work with default settings..."from -it-possible-to-use-old-wacom-tablet-on-10-11 Other drivers (5.2.6-5 5.3.6-6 ) gave me a single pressure only as did the newer Bamboo drivers

You need to install WacomTablet_605-7 -- you can get that from the Wacom website, that is the highest-version wacom driver that supports serial port tablets. I got mine to work today. Here are the steps I've taken:

In only one instance have I managed to get the wacom driver installed without the yellow warning triangle on the Prolific adapter in device manager. This was using Hamm's method, but when I reinstalled the driver with vista rather than Windows 2000 settings the yellow warning triangle appeared again and the wacom driver was not recognised

device shows the usb connector as com3 like yours and i did as u said i pluggd in my power cable.... was i supose to reset before doing this cuz i didnt.... the installed that driver from wacom on system windows 7 , as i run on home premium, 6.10.6 installed , i reset comp.... light comes on when pen touches tablet but no curser moving plz tell me where im going wrong!!!! i miss my tablet to get to me quicker gotto my facebook !/robert.johnson.96742277 as i dont check my mail much but will everyday untill i get it working again

The Arch Linux kernels include drivers by the linux-wacom and DIGImend projects. linux-wacom supports Wacom devices, while DIGImend supports devices from other manufacturers. Both projects publish a list of supported devices: linux-wacom, DIGImend. After connecting your tablet via USB or Bluetooth, it should show up when running dmesg as root and be listed in /proc/bus/input/devices. For USB devices, the lsusb command from usbutils should also show your tablet. If your tablet does not show up, or if certain features do not work, see #Device not recognized by the kernel.

Install the xf86-input-wacom Xorg driver. No additional configuration is required for Wacom devices, as the included /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/70-wacom.conf file will automatically load the wacom(4) driver when plugging Wacom devices. If your device is from another manufacturer, you will need to manually configure Xorg to use it with the wacom driver, which will allow configuring it through xsetwacom. Create a file in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d, where VID:PID is your USB ID as seen by lsusb:

The Xorg driver can be temporarily configured with xsetwacom, see xsetwacom(1). Changes are lost after X server restarts or replugging your tablet, see #Permanent configuration to view methods to keep your settings persistent.

Your logs indicate that the correct driver is selected, and the tablet works. However, when running xsetwacom list devices or use similar tools that depend on the correct driver, you get an empty list.

A reason might be the execution order of your xorg configuration. /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d gets executed first, then /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d. The package xf86-input-wacom contains the file /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/70-wacom.conf. If there is a catchall for tablets, executed after this file, the previously selected wacom driver will be overwritten with a generic one that does not work with xsetwacom et. al. 2ff7e9595c
